"Exploring Your Invisible Paradise"
Image Radio features current developments in art focussed on new media in public space. The artwork will include video, animation, interactive art, new media art, and more.
The festival is also an experiment, critical reflection, and preview of how new media in public space impact our cultural, social and physical surroundings. The increase of dataclouds, sensor networks, surveillance systems, interactive kiosks, particularly in urban centers, provides a new medium. Public space becomes a medium in which dynamic and manipulative content influences our perception. Potential applications of this new medium have hardly been explored.
Image Radio 2008 (October 31 till November 02, Eindhoven) presents a selection of international artists who demonstrate that research and reflection on "new media in public space", can lead to unexpected and meaningful results. Accordingly, the emphasis lies on interactive approaches and experimentation with new media technology.
Image Radio will be presented in the center of Eindhoven, Witte Dame, Lichtplein, TAC. The festival will host a symposium featuring various prominent speakers.
