Mettina Veenstra is a principal researcher at Novay in Enschede, the Netherlands. She is co-ordinater of the theme Public Screens at Novay.
Novay explores how “smart” public screens can contribute to creating more comfortable and interesting public spaces. By smart public screens is meant interactive public screens equipped with sensors. The main goal is to be able to determine the optimal mix of content (e.g. entertainment, information and advertising) for an urban screen on a specific location on a specific moment based on among other things users’ interaction with the screen and data collected by sensors.
