Remco Vroom

Next Gen. Communication: Mobile augmented reality

Remco Vroom (born 23 September, 1973) is a pioneer in the field of mobile augmented reality and the co-founder and CEO of TAB Worldmedia. Vroom also previously served as a commercial and strategic director at advertising agencies Euro RSCG, Grey Worldwide, TBWA\ and Young & Rubicam.

In the late 1990s, Vroom was among the first advertising experts who developed successful commercial campaigns on the internet. In the years after Vroom lead several brands to commercial success and he received numerous awards for his work: 2 Cannes Lions, 3 Effie Awards, 2 New York Festivals, 2 ADCN Lamps among others.

In the year 2010 Vroom decided to take commercial communication to the next level with mobile augmented reality and he founded TAB Worldmedia together with his business partner Johannes la Poutré. His new found company is the first company in the world that connects augmented reality to outdoor advertising. Within the first quarter TAB Worldmedia has managed to contract several international brands.

    To announce the premiere of the latest box office hit ‘Prince of Persia, The sands of time’, Walt Disney launches the worlds first augmented reality outdoor campaign. Lucky users of Android- and iPhones who are standing near one of the outdoor filmposters can play the movie trailer and play an augmented reality game just by using their Layar browser. They can collect 50 Movie Minute value points as a reward for playing the game.
